Types of Scholarship
In Canada, they offer their scholarships according to your level. There is an undergraduate scholarship and graduate scholarships (Masters, Ph.D.).
International Undergraduate Scholarships in Canada
Humber College International Entrance Scholarships
This scholarship award is offered to NEW international students beginning classes in January and September of each year. They offer renewable full and partial tuition.
Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship
The University of Toronto offers this scholarship program for international students that have achieved exceptional academic prowess (students who are very intelligent). They offer students who are leaders in their various schools. This award covers tuition, incidental fees, books, and full residence support for four years.
Carleton Prestige Scholarships
Carleton University offers prestigious scholarships to excellent incoming international students with an admission average above 90%. But however, they also offer other scholarships awards which include;
- Carleton University SHAD Scholarship;
- The Chancellor’s Scholarship;
- Carleton University of Excellence;
- The Richard Lewar Entrance Scholarship;
- Riordon Scholarship;
- Collins Prestige Scholarship.
NOTE: The Riordon and the collins Prestige scholarships cover full tuition for four years. However, the others offer the value of CAD 20,000-30,000.
University of British Columbia Scholarships for International Students
The University of British Columbia recognizes and offers more than $10 million CAD manually to outstanding students. They offer other forms of financial assistance to undergraduate students.
Winnipeg President’s Scholarships for World Leaders
This scholarship award is offered to international students entering any of the University’s divisions for the first time. The scholarships are between $3,500 – $5,000.
University of Ottaawa
The university offers two scholarship schemes that are beginning their full-time course. The President’s Scholarship is valued at $30,000 for three years. The Chancellor’s Scholarship is valued at $26,000 for three years.
Calgary International Entrance Scholarships
The University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship recognizes exceptional students beginning their studies at the university. They offer$60,000 for a duration of four years.
York University International Student Scholarship Program
York University recognizes international students with exceptional academic records. They offer $60,000 – $100,000 for a four-year program.
International Graduate Scholarships in Canada
University of Waterloo Master’s Awards of Excellence
Not all international students are eligible for this award. In other words, only master’s students who enter a research-based program at the university are eligible (allowed to receive this award). The award offered is $2,500 per term for five terms.
University of Calgary Graduate Awards
They offer a wide range of courses for partial and full-time courses. The award is valued at a given range of $1,000 – $4,000.
Ontario Graduate Scholarship
The Ontario Graduate Scholarship is funded by the Ontario government. It is valued at $10,000 – $15,000 depending on the length of time.
Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships
This scholarship scheme was created to attract world-class doctoral students. The scholarship award is offered to international students beginning their doctoral degrees. It is valued at $50,000 for three years.
University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship
These scholarship schemes are based on merit to international students beginning their full-time courses. It is for all faculties, and for all international students regardless of their nationality. The fellowship is valued at $18,000 for Ph.D. students and $14,000 for Master’s students per year.
Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarships
The doctoral scholarships are open to foreign nationals (with preference to students from the developing world). They must be students applying for their doctoral programs. Its value is $60,000 for three years.
