Police repel terrorist attack, rescue 5 kidnapped villagers, recover 43 rustled cows and 83 sheep in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command repelled a bandit’s attack, rescued five kidnapped victims, recovered 43 rustled cows, and 86 sheep. 


Spokesperson of the command, SP Gambo Isah, in a statement on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, noted that it received distress calls that bandits attacked Karo village in Musawa LGA of the state. 


Subsequently, the Divisional Police Officer of Kankara LGA led a tactical team to the area and blocked a cattle route along Tashar Maje. 


“On 6/12/2022 at about 0500hrs, a distress call was received that terrorists numbering twenty -five, shooting sporadically with with AK 47 rifle, attacked Karo village, Tsabe Tuge Ward, Musawa LGA of Katsina state, kidnapped five (5) villagers, rustled forty-three (43) cows, eighty-six (86) sheep and two (2) donkeys and stole away three (3) motorcycles belonging to the villagers,”


“Subsequently, Dpo Kankara was alerted and he led a tactical team to the area and blocked a cattle route along TASHAR MAJE, Kankara LGA. The team engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel and successfully repelled them from furthering their hieneous mission and rescued all the kidnapped victims and recovered all the rustled animals,”


“The Commissioner of police, Katsina State command, CP Shehu Umar Nadada, psc, commended the efforts of the officers for the display of uncommon courage and gallantry. He urged them to sustain the tempo until all terrorists are rooted out from the state.


“The CP also enjoined members of the public to partner with the security agencies by giving them useful information that will assist them in the ongoing onslaught against recalcitrant terrorists in the state.”
